Have been measuring trees for 4 weeks, and just got back from Ravensthorpe. One of the favourite sites we measured was a large stand of mort, on a farm just below the Lake Magenta Mallee Fowl Reserve.
Last weekend the inlet looked like this as the wind created a storm surge
that smashed into the bush.

Great picture Chrissy. I have always had a soft spot for the Eucalyptus platypus. Some of the street verges in Cottesloe have been planted with the E. platypus heterophylla, marvellous.

hey colin, nice to see you the other balcony! will definately have to check out those cottesloe plantings. nice one. haven't read "eucalyptus" but i do have some nice images from extacted readings floating around in my mind.

got into some salmon gums forests too, fantastic! seriously, go have a look, ravensthorpe is a truely magnificent landscape.
