the stick is what the snare was attached to: i wired it to the fence (with the sign) but i should have wired the bunny too because unfortunately someone removed it by this morning: probably in horror, or perhaps guilt; i'm not sure which. the rabbit was strangled to death in the snare. i found it on one of my walks in the railway reserve and rushed home to make the sign. it is the second rabbit i have found in a snare there. fortunately i was able to release the first one, as it was only caught by the foot. it was far too small to make a decent meal anyway!
